Listeners will gain a deeper understanding of how the positive qualities of others can be drawn out by appreciating the mathematics of their names. Laara illustrates how independence, harmony, self-expression, system and order, discovery, reliability, depth of mind, executive ability, and service are the key aspects of each of the 1 to 9 qualities. With the Mathematical Principle, listeners can learn how to nurture these constructive qualities in others for a more harmonious and fulfilling life.

Daken: Welcome to You Are Your Name. My name is Daken Ariel. My cohost is Marlowe Shearing and we have a special guest today, Laara Brown. Thank you for joining us. Laara.
Laara: Nice to be here Daken.
Daken: So the topic today is happiness. And you are going to do a summary of how each quality is unique and they have a different expression. In a sense, they become happy when they express that positive quality of that number. I think it'd be helpful to have a few names that are strong in the quality so that when people hear your comments, they can relate to people they might know.
So names very strong in the 1 quality are Ivan, I-V-A-N, Barry, that's B-A-R-R-Y, Dan, D-A-N, Peter, Ralph, Cecile, that's C-E-C-I-L-E, Pat, P-A-T, Harris, H-A-R-R-I-S, and there are many more such as Stan, Ernest, Matt, M-A-T-T. Of course, some of these are nicknames, so they'll have other names that will influence them. But that gives you just a few names to think about when Laara talks about the 1 quality.
So, how do we make the numbers happy, Laara?
Laara: Well, the quality of the 1 needs independence. They want to stand on their own. They want to do whatever it is on their own terms, in their own time, in their own way. So we don't want to ever crowd them or be demanding or pushy. It is really important with the 1 quality to be direct and clear and concise. Don't speak in innuendos because they just don't get it. They're so clear and concise and honest themselves. They're straightforward, so they appreciate you being straightforward.
So, let's say you have a job for them to perform. Well, give the picture in simple terms. Don't give all the details. Just say we, we'd like to go from A to B. Because then that allows them the freedom to choose, to create, to make their own decisions, because they are so original and creative. That that gives them the opportunity to express their own original ideas.
Daken: So for the 2 quality, we have names such as Adrian, A-D-R-I-A-N, Porter, Foster, Marian, M-A-R-I-A-N, Desmond, Diana, D-I-A-N-A, Nadia, N-A-D-I-A, and there are many more. But what about the 2 quality?
Laara: This quality needs understanding and encouragement. Quite different from the 1, they're very happy to be supported. The 1 doesn't need that; they're pioneers and can go on their own. But that 2 is a quality of association, of merging, and blending, and bringing people together. So they utilize the efforts of others because they realize that no man or woman is an island. So never force them to stand on their own. Because there's great strength in unity. And that gives them confidence and understanding to let them do what they do best.
They make wonderful hosts and hostesses. People say, "Gosh, they made me feel so at home and so comfortable." The 2 quality has great cleverness and quickness in mind when dealing with people. And they make great mediators and diplomats. They say, " Jack didn't mean that this is what he really means," and they bring that understanding. The 2 quality needs affection. They need to know that they're appreciated and loved.
Daken: So the 1 quality has that individuality where the 2 is really trying to create harmony. So there's quite a different aspect to creating happiness for that quality. So for the 3 quality, we have names like Justin, J-U-S-T-I-N, Quinn, Sunny, S-U-N-N-Y, Ruby, Alexander, Charlotte. Again, these names could have nicknames, so that will change their nature. So how do we make the 3 quality happy, Laara?
Laara: Don't make life too serious for them. Make life fun for them. Don't regiment them. If there's a task to be done, and sure there's always tasks to be done, make it fun. You know, like Tom Sawyer, he got all his friends involved in painting the fence because it made it sound so fun for them. So if there's a job to be done, get them singing and dancing or telling jokes, or a promise of dinner out. Or if it's a little child playing the music, you know their music lessons. "Okay, if you play your scales, then you can have that new game that you've been wanting to have." Anything like that to give them the incentive.
Another thing is don't pound them with details. They need spontaneous expression and a chance to talk and sing and dance and create and communicate. Another thing is to encourage their humor, because they love to make people laugh. And the 3 quality responds to kindness. If you are thoughtless or unkind, then that brings out the negative quality of the 3 which is sarcasm. But if you give them kindness and love and support, they'll bring out the highest side of their nature.
Daken: So for the 4 quality, we have names such as Julian, J-U-L-I-A-N, Alonzo, Donovan, D-O-N-O-V-A-N, Mureen, M-U-R-E-E-N. How about the 4 quality? How are they different?
Laara: Well, they need stability. They cannot be rushed or pushed into something. They want to know the details. Not like the 3, the 3 doesn't care. But the 4, you have to lay the picture out. They have to grasp it, understand it. Then they can make a decision. With children, it's important to show them the patience. Let them build step-by-step. And then once they have a concept, they have it for life. But they need security and stability. And they need routine. You know, they know that "Mommy's gonna pick them up after school, or daddy." They have that security. They have to know where they're going and how they're going to get there.
Daken: The 5 quality, we have names such as Terry, Cecil, C-E-C-I-L, Ned, N-E-D, Vern, Trent, Brent, B-R-E-N-T, and Kent, K-E-N-T. So how do you make the 5 quality happy, and how does that differ from the 4?
Laara: Well, they love new experiences, physical and mental. They want to carve new paths, attempt new things. They want to explore and discover. They love travel. They respond to new challenges without restrictions. So they're able to use their creativity. No rules, no limitations. And completely different from the 4. Don't question them or ask them for the details.
If you have teenagers with the 5 quality, teach them the facts of life. Teach them the values and the standards, and then you have to trust them. And then they will respect your judgment and they'll try to live up to the best of their ability to your high standards that you have taught them.
The 5 is happy to experience mental realizations, physical realizations. And they can do things to indulgence, you know, to the extreme. Let's say they, they are into skiing this year. Well, it's skiing morning, noon, and night. And then the next year it's into golfing. And they're into that morning, noon, and night. But it's when they have a balanced name, that brings more stability and more balance into their lives.
Daken: So for the 6 quality, we have names such as Stanley, Michael, Don, D-O-N, Dean, D-E-A-N, Harley, Andre, Parker, Janice, Mabel, Rae, R-A-E, and Stella, S-T-E-L-L-A. So how does the 6 become happy?
Laara: Well, they're happiest when there is security and stability in the home, their business, their marriage, their family life. They need to be needed. They thrive on responsibility. So early in childhood, they love it when their parents say, "Sweetheart," and your six years old, "Would you please set the table?" Or, they're seven years old, "Would you please empty the dishwasher?" They love it when you give them that responsibility.
So the 6 quality is happiest when they're given the chance to use their minds and take control using their mental ability and intelligence so that everything is successful and capably handled. The 6 quality is happy making decisions where they are in charge, whether it's a business or an educational institute. So we want to encourage their creative, responsible, and reliable nature, and they won't let you down.
Daken: For the 7 quality, we have names such as Olaf, O-L-A-F, Victoria, Norma, Flora, F-L-O-R-A, Alison, A-L-I-S-O-N, Marion, M-A-R-I-O-N, and Mona, M-O-N-A. So how do you make the 7 quality happy?
Laara: Well again, they need security. But we have to really, really recognize they have a deeply sensitive nature. And so they need mental companionship and understanding. And that gives them confidence. And then they'll express their deepest thoughts to you once they understand that you know they have a depth of concept. And they're like a flower that opens up. But they can't be pushed. They need time for reflection or they'll just withdraw like that turtle. And you can knock on the turtle shell and "Come on out!" But no, the 7 will not come out. They like to listen. They like to sift through ideas and then come to conclusions. But they're happiest when allowed to express that philosophical depth of thinking. And feel that they are understood by others.
So the 7s love nature, and they draw from the peace and tranquility. Perhaps there's been guests staying in the house for a week or so. And the 7 needs a chance to be alone in nature and just rebuild.
Marlowe: So then we have the 8 quality. And we have Justine, J-U-S-T-I-N-E, Madonna, Julian, J-U-L-I-E-N, Kruger, Lucile, L-U-C-I-L-E, and Ramona. So the 8 quality.
Laara: Well, the 8 is happy when it's in control, when they have the freedom to direct others. The 8 enjoys responsibility. They're happy when their practical reasoning nature creates happiness and harmony and goodwill for all. They enjoy working with people in administrative organizational ways. They can see the talents of others. So they can go into a company and turn it around because they know, "You know, this person would be better in this job and this person would be better in that." They just have that capable understanding of people.
They're happy to see others perform on a high level. Success, whether it's their own or others, makes them happy. They often have culinary skills. Perhaps they're baking or specialized gourmet dishes. The 8 wants to be their own boss. They want to be better than average. And they want to improve the welfare of others. They give compassion and understanding, because they really want equality and fairness for all people.
Marlowe: Then we have the 9 quality. And the names are Duane, D-U-A-N-E, Dick, Phil, Cliff, Mick. And some of these might be nicknames. So again, modified by what their legal name is, Monroe, and Vicki spelled V-I-C-K-I.
Laara: The 9 quality finds greatest happiness in giving, whether it's materially, artistically, emotionally, or spiritually. They love people and they want to lift their spirits often through music or drama. Or perhaps it's baking. You know, maybe they put on a big party and boy, when they have cake, when they serve it, maybe it's supposed to be twelve pieces, but they cut it into six because they're so generous and giving.
Their highest joy is to give spiritual truth, that chance for others to be mentally free. They love to stir people into action. They're like that pied piper saying, "Follow me to spiritual growth."
The 9 quality does not like drudgery, the dishwashing, or the housekeeping. Unless there is a party and they're inspired because they want to give to others. And that's different. The 9 responds to love and appreciation. Any criticism, they just go down in the dumps and then they lose all their inspiration, and they have no energy to give. If you want to make them happy, then give them the praise and the encouragement, because that inspires them and lifts them. And they'll work all through the night on some project perhaps.
Marlowe: In summary, making the numbers happy is so important because we live in a world of people and we'd love to create that response that brings out that higher side, that quality of intelligence that allows them the opportunity. And so the same as smiling at someone when you pass them on the street, we're recognizing through our thinking these qualities and then trying to draw them out.
And so in Life Analysis Training, we go through these qualities and we teach the nine qualities and the understanding of the energies of life and the energies that can be understood through each mind to draw the best out of others.
So this was a really good morning, Laara. Thank you so much. We've enjoyed the discussion. And we look forward to another episode in the future.
Laara: Thank you so much, Marlowe and Daken.
