Daken: Welcome to Season 2 of You Are Your Name. In Season 1, we discussed how the names that we use influence our thinking patterns, our health, and the experiences that we attract. For instance, Terry is always interested in new experiences and change and new challenges, but is restricted by his impulsiveness and intensity.
So, some names are going to be more detrimental than others. Kabalarian Philosophy has pioneered the concept of balanced names. Those are names that give us the proper balance of all the intelligent qualities that we can draw from consciousness and express through our individual thinking pattern and create the life that we want.
So in this season, we're going to interview people who have made that change from an unbalanced name to a balanced name. And look at what changes and what benefits they've received. And that might give you some insights into what you could create in your life relative to making a change to a balanced name.
In today's episode, we have Braven Blackwell. He balanced his name 25 years ago. Braven is a very successful businessman. He's developed software for estimating for hardware stores and more recently started a men's clothing store. Braven, would you give us a summary of how you have applied the balanced name in your career and life?
Braven: I started off with estimating and 3D design software and, uh, changed the company name as well as my own name. And what happened is that I started off by wondering about life and wondering why things turn out the way they do. And the real issue in my life was that we were having trouble having children. So I thought, "Wow! If there's such a issue in my life, why is this happening to us?" I kept searching, and pretty soon I came across Kabalarian Philosophy. And when I found that, then we were able to determine what the reason was for my wife's inability to get pregnant. And the reason that she couldn't is that she did not have a name that was compatible with her birthpath.
Daken: Okay. You changed your name and she changed your name. And how did that, did that help that issue?
Braven: Yes. Right after she changed her name, guess what happened?
Daken: She got pregnant!
Braven: She got pregnant. And a lot of people have a hard time thinking and understanding that, but when you know the Philosophy and you understand the Mathematical Principle, it makes complete sense.
Daken: Now, you also changed the name of your business. I think that was one of the ways you tested the theory by renaming your business. Can you maybe give us a little bit of a background on that?
Braven: When I first started with the Philosophy, that's where I started. I started with a business name change. And I thought I would do like an experiment and explore that first. And so what I did is I went to the website and you submit your name from your business and the incorporation date. Then I got a call and I talked to a nice lady that helped me to tell me about my company. And I was like, "Wow, okay! That's very interesting and truthful, so I have to look further."
Daken: When she told you about your company, she was basically describing the influence of the company name on the conditions that company would attract.
Braven: And that name was not an accumulative name, meaning that it would not bring in as much sales and revenue and all that sort of thing. It didn't take long to convince me that a name change was necessary because it could recognize all the things that she talked about with the qualities of the business name.
And when I changed it, I wouldn't say immediate, but it was very quick. As one example, we went from thirty sales a year. Now that doesn't sound like a lot, but thirty sales of software and to implement, that is a big job. And so we went from thirty to one hundred and thirty!
Daken: Wow.
Braven: That became a very big job! But why did that happen? It happened because we have a balanced name and because we also follow the cycles, of course. That's another part of this, a big part. But the name change itself improved the productivity of the employees and it also kept the employees. Whereas with the other name, we had a name that no one would stay in the company. I was hiring people over and over again.
Daken: Which is an expensive process to find the right people.
Braven: Exactly. And part of that is from myself because my name was very straightforward and blunt person and some people don't like that.
Daken: You were direct!
Braven: I'm very super-direct and people didn't enjoy that so they wouldn't stick around. As soon as i changed the company name and I changed my own name, that made a huge difference to attract and keep great staff. We have many staff with multiple years of service.
It's the whole thought about changing a name sounds daunting, but it is not. It doesn't matter what anybody thinks. It doesn't. I was already in business for ten years and I changed the name and they go, "Oh, you're changing the names. Okay." Another year later, they didn't know what the old name was because we had a new name. So it doesn't matter. It's immaterial. What's important is that you make the change. Change is a hard thing for some people, but change is the most important part.
Daken: When you contacted the Philosophy you had one young daughter already. After changing to balanced names, your wife had two more boys. As I understand it, you were still gaining confidence in balanced names when your first boy was born so he wasn't given a balanced name right away. But your second boy was given a balanced name from birth. Can you comment on the influence of your children's balanced names?
Braven: Yes, they were quite young when we changed the names, and my daughter was six years old, I believe, at the time. And so she was a very lively young lady, and then she became much more serious, and the intelligence came out strong with her and that name. She has a great understanding of life.
And her brother, he changed his name when he was six months. So you see a subtle difference, but he's pretty much brand new. And then the third child, he was born with a balanced name. And today, if you look at all three of them, his balanced name shines through immensely. Most people comment on how well-mannered, and poised, and educated, and understanding he is. My daughter is as well. But he has his balanced name since birth and that makes a profound effect on a person.
Daken: The theory, of course, of balanced name is it allows your inner potential a better channel for expression. So, each of them have a different inner potential, a different birthpath. But with balanced names, there is that expression of that quality. So just having that aspect of understanding those qualities that helped you be a better parent, do you think?
Braven: Yes, it certainly did. Understanding their names first of all, and then understanding the groups and the birthpath, of course. And you parent each child to their mathematics. If you try to stifle the 1 (birthpath) from doing things, you're asking for trouble because the 1 (birthpath) will do it, no matter what! You move out of their way basically! So if you understand that, then they are just wonderful. They'll show you really wonderful creativity, for example.
Daken: So one last question relative to names. For those who are considering a balanced name, do you have any advice for them? We have many people get Name Reports. What would you suggest they do after they get the Name Report? What would be the process to help them get the most out of it?
Braven: I think the most important thing you can do is take the class. Take the Life Analysis Training class and make your decision on your name during the class. You will understand these names better, and you will understand others, and you will understand why they are like they are and why you don't want to be those unbalanced names. It's important, very important, to take the class. So that you have an understanding of what you're doing. And you can have an educated, philosophical, spiritual understanding of your name.
Daken: Great. I appreciate your time, and I'm sure your insights will help people. Thank you, Braven.
Braven: Wonderful. Thank you.
