In this episode, we discuss the question, "How do the mathematical formulas of our names influence our interaction with people?" Our guest, Dhorea Delain, and co-host Marlowe Shearing give a comprehensive overview of how those names with a predominance of one of the nine qualities would interact with others.

Daken: Welcome to You are Your Name. My name is Daken Ariel and my co-host is Marlowe Shearing. For the next few episodes, we're going to discuss how name is related to creating happy, successful long-term relationships. Our guest today is Dhorea Delain, the senior Name Consultant at the Kabalarian Philosophy. Thank you for joining us, Dhorea.
Dhorea: Thank you. It's a pleasure to be part.
Daken: So the question for this episode is how does the mathematical formula of our names influence our interaction with people?
Dhorea: Well, our names create our thinking. Our names create our life. Our names create the vibration of our thought pattern. We live in thought like fish live in water. Water is their nutrients for survival. Well, for humans, we live in this invisible world of thought. And so we draw energies to ourselves. How? We have a nervous system. We have brain cells, but we actually link to an invisible vibration of thought. The name is the link to those invisible forces of thought.
So depending upon the qualities in a name, depend what thought patterns we draw from. Now you've discovered, perhaps earlier in the podcasts, that the Mathematical Principle is based on nine qualities. And it depends where those qualities are in a name or birthdate as to what influence they have. And so depending on which of those qualities are linked to our name, depends what energy of thought pattern we draw.
So if our names are strong in the 1 quality, then we're going to be drawing from that singular, independent, strong-willed, creative energy. But what happens if it's too much of the 1? Then it creates a very single-minded approach to life where we just see it from our perspective rather than blending emerging with others. So does that create harmony in a person's thinking? Unfortunately, it does limit a person's flexibility to be able to merge and blend with others. But they're excellent in leadership roles where they can direct other people. And so if it's a strong quality of the 1 in the name, then it does tend to limit a person's perspective and having the compassion and the blending and the merging with others.
Daken: They're very loyal and staunch with their friendships, but they wouldn't have a lot of friends because of that independent quality.
Dhorea: It creates more of a quality of wanting to be on their own. They don't have the ability to just be flexible and amiable in blending and merging with others. So it is a limitation for a person who is strong with the 1 quality in their name.
Daken: How does that compare, say, to the 2 quality?
Dhorea: Well, the 2 is just the opposite. Where the 1 stands alone and is independent, the 2 is blending and merging. If you're on your own, there's no one to talk to. But if you have two, there's the communication and the exchange. So person who has the 2 in the mathematics of their name, there's a tendency to want to support and assist others, and they look to others for assistance. They need reassurance. And so you'll find the 2 quality creates more of a blending and merging, and they tend to shy away from situations where they have to stand on their own.
They'll often listen to other people's ideas before they'll make up their mind. And if you give a person strong in the 2 a direct question where they have to stand on their own and make a decision, many times they'll flounder or they'll make an excuse. So it doesn't give the mental focus and strength to a person. But it makes them very affable, very blending, very merging, very caring of people, and they like to see harmony. It's difficult for the person with the 2 to stand up for themselves. So it doesn't create the mental strength to allow a person to establish their own individuality of mind.
Daken: It reminds me when you're in a restaurant and you're ordering lunch with a 2, they always want to know what everyone else is ordering before they decide.
Dhorea: Very true.
Daken: So what about the 3?
Dhorea: Well, the 3 is the cosmopolitan quality. The 3 is imbued with self-expression, very creative, very artistic, very dramatic. They're the ones that can get into arguments so easily because they like the last word. And they're very infectious people. They're very outgoing. They have a nature where it's more bubbly, it's more outgoing, more expressive. And so you'll find that they're more charming people.
But they can be a little bit argumentative. Once again, they like the last word where they just get something out. And so sometimes they don't always have the discipline to control the power of their expression. And it can create challenges because of the inability to be aware sometimes of the need to control their expression. But it is creative, artistic, and the types of person that are just usually bouncing through life. But they're not practical, and so they can be spendthrifts and don't always plan ahead. And so it doesn't always bring the stability into a person's life.
Daken: What would be another strength of the 3?
Dhorea: The 3 has a natural, resilient quality and it's a giving energy. And so they have a natural optimism and a positive expression in their life.
Daken: What about the 4, Marlowe? Do you want to do a summary of the names strong in the 4, how they would interact with people?
Marlowe: The 4 quality creates a more serious nature, and they're the person that can read instruction manuals, understand them, and help their husband put the thing together. But that 4 quality is detailed. They like to know the facts, and they have to understand the practical aspects and the detail of things, and so their minds don't have some of the qualities of perception or the bigness. They think more methodically, step-by-step. And so they have routines, lists, systems. And they grocery shop Monday and they do this then. And so you can't surprise them because you upset their pattern. And then they have to readjust their thinking and sort that through. So it makes them less spontaneous. They're not the 3 anymore.
Now they're more organized. They don't need that association in the same way. They can keep busy and create and accomplish on their own. And as they do accomplish things, they feel that joy of the canning, the knitting, the laundry all done and completed. But that organized quality and that technical aspect of life has to be looked after, but too much 4 then is a limitation.
Daken: So it tends to make them a little more discontent and fussy when they have too many 4s.
Marlowe: Yes, limited. The schedules, their preconceived ideas, the perceptions that they learned from the family, and they continue along with those qualities of thinking. Traditionalists.
Daken: Dhorea, do you want to tackle the 5?
Dhorea: Well, the 5 quality brings a very adventurous nature. It's very creative. There's always something that they're looking forward to rather than finishing what they start. Once the challenge is over, they move on. The 5 often make good salespeople because it's a creative outlet and they always like to win. They always like to get that sense of I've accomplished. And so it's very outgoing, very restless. And you'll find that they're always seeking something, seeking change. So one of the drawbacks though, is it spoils stability because they're constantly wanting to move on to something new and don't want to remain in a routine, mundane approach to life.
Very creative. They tend to look for progress, something new, something different, something to stimulate them. And so it can create a lot of instability. They tend to trust people and take people at their words. So often a person strong in the 5s has bitter disappointments and a life of constant motion moving, traveling, looking up new opportunities so it doesn't bring the evenness and the consistency of accomplishment in their lives. And it creates a frustration that way. But they'll often jump to a new opportunity thinking that's the answer, rather than recognizing and being practical enough to follow through and reach their ultimate goals.
But they're very quick minded. And you'll find that there are people that jump at a dare and and they love variety and change. And so often it doesn't, as they say, bring the personal fulfillment in their personal lives due to this changeability and and discontent that often functions through their thinking and their patterns and the conditions that they attract.
Daken: It seems like the 5s have challenges when they're in any type of routine. Mr. Parker wrote that they seldom find happiness in marriage because the love of freedom overrides everything else. And so that's why a balanced name would override that impulsiveness that causes discontent.
What about the 6, Marlowe?
Marlowe: The 6 quality has that ability of the care of fellow man, and so they're the mother and the father. They desire that stable home life. They are communicative, responsible, can handle situations. But as well, they have a musical ability, that love of people and that caring for others, so extrapolating that we are our "brother's keeper." And so they're community-minded. They are service-oriented. Volunteer. They want to see humanity in a better place. And so all those qualities create responsibility, caring for others, that recognition that every assistance is needed in life and it will add to our fellow man's ability to have something better in their lives.
But generally that 6 quality can maintain their equanimity. They learn, they have perception. They can listen to people and perceive what is trying to be discussed and can reconvey it clearly. They can be the student in school that can sit and listen, and then the teacher thinks they're not listening. But in fact they do have the answer. They have an ability to just perceive truth. And so that's a quality that is able to think as well as express.
Dhorea: Well, the 7 quality is the person that has such big ideals. But they keep them to themselves and it is a more private nature. They're the person that doesn't always merge with others. They step back and generally observe what's happening around them and then they will make their decisions. They don't usually share their ideas unless they're comfortable and feel they're really being understood. But when they do it, it's because they see the logic in it. It's actually brings a serious depth to a person's nature, but it also brings a nature where they are on their own more mentally because they don't merge and blend their ideas with others easily.
It's a very sensitive nature, and they can be very intuitive to thought patterns. And they can be influenced by their environment and not even realizing it because they're so sensitive. So it creates a shyness, a private nature, and it doesn't give them the chance to be free and open with their thoughts and feelings in communication easily. It takes time to bring out the higher side of someone who has 7 in their makeup because they're always cautious of being misunderstood. And so they reserve their feelings and protect themselves. And so it's a quality that can bring heaviness and introverted qualities. So they withdraw and they do not give in the same way that other qualities do. And so it can create a lot of aloneness and misunderstandings.
Daken: So a balanced name would really improve their lives by getting rid of that reserve.
Dhorea: Well, definitely that's right. They need to understand why a person has these deeper feelings and why they're feeling this restriction. But they're very creative. Instead of verbalizing, they'll often put their thoughts down in writing. And they can just spend time on their own. In fact, they require that. They have to separate themselves so that they can be free to think on their own without any distractions.
Daken: What about the 8? How does it differ from the 7?
Dhorea: Well, the 7 and 8 are both serious qualities, but the 8 is a much more outgoing influence and it gives them a sense of wanting to take over, take control and direct other people. They think in a bigger way. And they don't like their time being wasted because time is important to them. There's an old saying, "time is money," and so I have to accomplish. And so there's a tendency to be a little more materialistic in their approach to life. We all want to be successful, but the 8 quality almost feels it's their duty. And so they push themselves into a more material way of thinking. And they're very practical and pragmatic in their analysis.
And you find that they're not people that just have a spontaneous response because everything is more serious and they're conscientious. They're practical. But they make very good managers. They're organizing other people. It's one of their skills. But sometimes they can be too cut and dry and almost unkind in their expression, because they look for accomplishment. And if you're not accomplishing, then they feel there's no point having spending time with them or having them a part of a company if they're not pulling their wieght. And so the 8 does tend to evaluate through the practical analysis. And they can be very shrewd, can be a little miserly too. Extremely practical.
But on the positive side, the 8 does have an ability to observe. It's just that their judgmental quality comes in and sometimes that interferes with their blending and merging with people. But if they're in a position where they direct others, they're very competent and capable.
Daken: And last but not least, the 9. Would you like to summarize that too?
Dhorea: The 9 is an incorporation of all the 8 qualities below it. The 9 has that desire to be more universal. And they're very humanitarian. It's an idealistic quality. And so they try to see the good in life. They try to see the bigger picture. They're not ones that just look at things in black and white. They look at life with technicolor because they want to be inspired, and so they want to give the inspiration out to others. They're very artistic, musical, creative.
They're specialists. And they're very dramatic in their approach to life. They do things in a bigger way. It's this sense that they want to give back to humanity that drives them. But it can be a very emotional quality because of their feelings. They just can respond. It's just automatic and their sympathies, they'll go out of their way to help other people and they don't think of themselves in those ways. They have a strong desire for their own personal gain as well. Not necessarily always materially, but in the appreciation and what looking for returns of the love and the understanding that's so important to a person with a 9 quality. But they do tend to specialize in whatever area they go into.
Daken: Would the 9s in a name create ups and downs and self-pity? That seems to be one of the big weaknesses of those names.
Dhorea: That's right. It just such a strong sense of feeling that it overrides their analysis and their logic many times. But as we said, they're compassionate and giving and they'll go and get involved with the situation and bring people together to inspire them. So they have a tremendous drive. But it becomes whatever quality the 9 is with, it adds power and intensity to the other characteristics.
Daken: Thank you ladies for your overviews of those mathematical influences. Obviously a balanced name would create the optimum conditions for relationships, because then you're drawing from balanced thinking. You can create stability.
Dhorea: That's that's absolutely true. And that's why the Kabalarian Philosophy recommends a person look into understanding all the nuances. We're not just one number. We were discussing general characteristics. There's the positive and the negative to each of the nine qualities. But it's their relationship in a first name, a surname. What creates the natural harmonics? It's like the treble and the bass on a piano. If there's not the harmonics, then you don't get the desired results. If there isn't the balance and the harmony and the vibration of the mathematical quality of the name, it creates an opposing energy and it doesn't allow the flow of our natural inner potential because there is a restriction.
If a person is born to be a leader, but they have a name strong in the 2, and it tends to make them merge and blend and not stand up for themselves, then it creates a frustration. Or if a person's meant to be the 4 quality, a natural teacher and an educator, but they have 5s in their name, they'll teach and they'll educate, but they'll always scatter their efforts. So it creates the opposing energy influencing a person's personality and the conditions that they attract.
Daken: Thank you, Dhorea. That's a good summary. Until next week, happy thoughts!
