INTERVIEW:

Daken: Our guest today is Renard Zeviar from Barbados. Thank you Renard for being with us and sharing your experiences with a balanced name.

Renard: Thank you Daken, for inviting me. It's a pleasure to be here.

Daken: So how long have you been using a balanced name?

Renard: I've been using a balanced name about 16 years now.

Daken: How did you find out about the Kabalarian Philosophy and the Mathematical Principle?

Renard: Sometime around 2005, I was browsing the internet and I came across the site which spoke to a Name Report. And I took the plunge and I took this Name Report and it said some interesting things about myself at the time. And so I delved a little further.

Daken: Did you change your name after getting the Name Report or how did that work out?

Renard: No, I didn't change my name immediately. But what was remarkable about the Name Report was how accurate it was. It was a new experience for me that a report just by looking at the numbers in my name, so to speak, could tell so much about me. And after studying it for a while, I decided that I would make the change. I spoke to my wife. I spoke to my mother. And they didn't have any objections.

Daken: When you said you studied it, did you mean you studied the course?

Renard: No, I didn't take the course at the same time. My recollection is I actually took the plunge after getting the Name Report and taking some time to think about it. Realizing that the things that were happening to me at the time were not desirable. After that, I then began to take the initial course.

Daken: So the Name Report itself, because it was accurate and it predicted the conditions of your life, that's what gave you the confidence to change your name?

Renard: Oh, yes. I didn't like what was happening at the time. I think a lot of people took me for granted. But I was seeking, let's say, a better version of myself. I still have that copy today. It is pretty accurate. And it really inspired me to make a change.

Daken: So what changes did you notice after you balanced your name? Did you see any changes in your thinking, your health, your perspective on life?

Renard: The more significant change for me, was that when people called me by my old name. Because here in Barbados, culturally, people always wonder why you change your name. But when people called me by my old name, I found that I did not even hear it. I did not respond. I found that my health did improve especially when I started to do Healthy Living (course).

Daken: Okay.

Renard: And while I may still have some challenges because of habits, and I'll explain that later, I found my outlook on life was a whole lot different. A lot of people did remark that the name was a nice name that they liked. But transitioning from the old name to the new name was as if I was a different person.

Daken: Was it a difficult process to change your name in terms of getting people to accept it?

Renard: No, it was not. It was not a problem. Even though to this day, some people still refer to the old name. But I think that is cultural. People will tend to ask, “Why did you change your name?" I must admit that I hold that a little personal, because some individuals can be judgmental. But I know what it means to me and I'm satisfied with that and the amount of growth that I've experienced, and still more to come I believe, because every change takes some time to take effect.

And it is a work in progress, so I'm not too concerned about it. But I think people who've never met me before, I think they accept it. Some people try to figure out what is the culture behind the name. Am I a Russian? Am I French? Things like that. So I find that quite funny as well.

Daken: When they ask me what ethnic background, I always say I'm Kabalarian. They ask, “Where’s that?”

Renard: I'll try that! Okay.

Daken: What aspects of the principle have you used and you'd like to share with the listeners?

Renard: Cycles for me is one of the most profound things that I have used being a student. I find that when you follow your cycles, you can avoid wasted effort. Moving at the right time, it results in success. And there are some times in a cycle when the day can start out funny or bad, as you may want to say, but being that you're in tune with the cycles and what the day may mean, you can still manage to work it out. The day doesn't end as bad.

I'll tell you an experience I had. On one occasion, I went to fix a machine to install something and it was a bad cycle there to do anything. At that time, I did not appreciate what that really meant. But it almost resulted in me losing a piece of my finger. And it was one day, perhaps a 4 cycle there, that regardless of what happened, it didn't seem to work out.

Since that experience, I've tried not to, how you would say, run afoul of what the cycle days instruct. I find that that has me pretty much grounded. It's really amazing, to be honest.

Daken: So in a test cycle, like a 4 cycle, invariably you're tested on anything you've started in the 1, 2, and 3. So really the 4 is to prove your intelligent seeding of the seeding period. And it's part of making sure that what you've done is intelligent and you fix the problems. So that in the 5 and 6, you can expand out. In the 7, 8, 9, you have the fruition.

There's an intelligence to the cycle. So in a sense, there is no bad cycle. It's just a different quality to it. But there are certainly cycle days which we are more accident-prone through impulsiveness or lack of mental control.

What advice would you give to someone considering a balanced name?

Renard: I think they should go for it. Even in my own family now, I've tried to encourage the members of the family to make that change, seeing what their present names does or doesn't do for them. But it's not as easy as that. I do have a son who was born after I made my own change and he has a balanced name. And there are some beneficial effects to that I have seen.

Of course, one has to work at it, the individual, and that takes time. But I wish I had known about the Philosophy long before I got involved. I believe strongly that my life would have turned out a little different. It's not that you're living a life of regrets. But in essence, you're able to do better. You make a contribution to this life and you improve oneself. There's more discipline, and it's overall a better feeling. Even if one doubts it, you will soon find that it becomes very revealing.

The one thing that I think I'm yet to master would be emotion. And I think that emotion does cloud judgment. And I think that is something that we need to be careful with, because as human beings we tend to be very emotional. But if we would just try to take some practical approaches. So that is my major fight dealing with emotion.

Daken: That's a pretty dominant theme for How to be Mentally Free training. Where we talk about the constructive and destructive qualities of mind and how we get into patterns or habits relative to our weaknesses in our unbalanced name that you have to supersede. You have to replace that weakness with a strength. If someone has a 2-ish name and procrastinate a lot, then they have to learn to need create initiative and basically battle that weakness.

But definitely that's a challenge for everyone. We have that theme in the whole studentship is learning to think rather than feel. Thinking should precede feelings. There's nothing wrong with emotion. It's the power of life, but it has to be channeled by the mind.

Renard: I think so. I agree with you and How to be Mentally Free will be my next course to be sure. I think I'm ready to take that. Yes.

Daken: Did you, did you find that you talk to the Name Consultants in the process when you were changing your name?

Renard: Yes. I spoke to them a little bit. But I think my Name Report at the time was so overwhelming or overpowering, I should say, that I think I knew it is something that I wanted to do. When you see in a report that this is you, this is who you are. And here are some of the things that you're going or doing wrong, you just want to immediately turn around. Perhaps other people may have a different experience, but for me that was the compelling thing.

And even if people didn't agree, or don't think that I have changed, that is a matter for their thinking. But for me, I've changed and there's still more changes to come. But again, I would think trying to master that emotion. It is so prevailing in one's life.

Daken: You mentioned that you benefited by the Healthy Living course. Was it the change in diet or the breathing?

Renard: A little bit of both. For me, it was the breathing which I still do. I would say that I fell off the horse a little bit there, because I do tend to like a lot of sweets. But the intention now is to go back to the Healthy Living. When I first started taking the cleansing diet and so on, it was very good.

Some of the things that one learned with the Kabalarian diet were very helpful. Vegetables on the island like this, you would think that it will be easy to get them, but they have become quite expensive. We get some little challenges with water and so on. A lot of the people here are not raising their own kitchen garden and so on. So you tend to buy a lot of American stuff and you get caught up with that.

So it's a matter of getting back on the right track. Because certainly as you get older, you can't eat all the bad foods you used to eat. There's a value to eating the right way and having a natural plant-based diet.

Daken: Do you have any final comments you leave the listeners with relative to balanced name or anything that you've studied?

Renard: I think having a balanced name is very important, perhaps for everyone. The only thing is as you would say, “You can take a cow to water, but you can't make him drink.” Everyone has to decide, and what I realize is that you can't force people to do it.I think the person who decides to take on a balanced name knows when it is the right time. But I would encourage everyone and I have tried. Here on Barbados, it is only the culture. People are not really so adept to change. And people believe if your mother gave you a name, this is a name that you will stick to.

But I think having knowledge of a balanced name and what it can do for your child or for yourself or your family for that matter becomes very, very important. I think taking that first step can really bring some benefits to you as an individual and to your contribution on this Earth. It enhances it, in my opinion.

Daken: Well, I appreciate your participating and I'm sure your insights will be helpful for others. These podcasts are to try to give people a perspective on how a balanced name can create positive changes in your life. So you've recognized positive changes and you also recognize that life is growth and so that you can continue to grow. The more you learn, the more you grow.

Renard: Yes. I totally agree. Totally agree with you. Thank you for having me.
