INTERVIEW:

Daken: Our guest today is Alannah Tanner. She's a long-term student of the Kabalarian Philosophy and balanced her name a few years back. Thank you for being here, Alannah, and sharing your experiences with balanced name.

Alannah: Oh, my pleasure. And I think you're being very kind when you say a few years back. It's more like fifty. And I'm beyond happy that I decided to go ahead with a name change.

Daken: So how did you find out about the Mathematical Principle?

Alannah: Oh, I found out about it through a business contact. And, she was very beautiful. Her deportment and everything was beyond unbelievable. And I said to her one day, What are you doing differently than every other woman I've ever met that is of your age? And at that time she would have been maybe fifty, fift-five. And so then she started to tell me. And she said, I follow a moderate vegetarian diet. I said, Well, you know, that's fine by me because I've been searching, had been searching for a way of life, oh, probably since I was about eighteen. And I came into the Philosophy at age thirty. And so I thought, Well, that's fine. And she says, we don't smoke. Well, I had never smoked in my whole life. And drinking? No, that's no problem. And so the conversation went from there. I had searched all different kinds of religions and everything. And it never found anything that was comfortable. It's like you're in a dressing room and you're putting something on. It might look good on the rack, but you slip it on and it doesn't fit. And then, she mentioned about a balanced name. And I was curious about that. And all this is happening in a work environment.

Daken: Sure.

Alannah: And so, she gave me a very quick name analysis. And do you recognize that? Yes. And so then it expanded from there. It was easy to change my name, I guess because I'd been searching for so long. Changing a name was just one more step to finding what I was looking for. And I was looking for a complete life.

When I decided to change my name, I thought to myself, "Self, what have you got to lose by changing your name?" Absolutely nothing. Not a thing. I could always go back to my old name. I'd had that name for thirty years. The path back is always well-worn. The path forward, you might have to jump over some rocks and climb through the bushes. And I thought, no, I'm going to do that. So I did change it and it was the best decision I've ever made in my whole life. And never once had I thought about going back to my old name.

Daken: What changes did you notice when you balanced your name?

Alannah: Um, I looked different. My friends said, “Gee, you look different.” I said, “Really?” Then they said, “Yes, you looked brighter. Your face looked brighter.” And she said, “Your eyes are clearer. You're much happier.” And I said, “Yes, I am. “

So, I noticed I was happier. I knew where I was going. It wasn't like I was standing in front of a travel agent trying to figure out where I want to go and how I want to get there. My whole life was just moving forward. And business was very easy. I got a really good job. I got the best job I've ever had in my life. And I'm really happy at my work. I was promoted. I got everything that I never knew I wanted. So for business it was fantastic.

Friends and friendships, they were always stable because I've had them for a very long time. The Philosophy and changing my name was the best thing I ever did.

Daken: Was it a difficult process changing your name?

Alannah: Um, the paperwork. No. It's just basically doing that. When I changed my name, a lot of, well, all the people want to know why? Why did you do that? Are you happier? Are you this? Are you that? Well, I let my new life stand for why I changed my name. Friends could see what was happening. My whole life was better. I was happier. I really didn't have that difficult a time.

There was a couple of people that took exception, but then, the way I looked at it, they were never my real friend. If they were my real friend, they'd go along with what I want and be happy for me. So yes, you do lose some friends. Well, they weren't your friends. But you do lose some people along the path. But then you get a whole bunch more.

Daken: What advice would you give to someone considering a balanced name?

Alannah: Do it. Just do it. Don't ask anybody's opinion whatever you do. Because they will nickel and dime you to death. If you are clear in your mind that you want to change your name, change it. And stick to your guns. And stick with it. And I know I've spoken to other friends. One friend from Calgary that came into the Philosophy when I was working there, and I asked her just recently, fifty years later, I said, Are you happy you changed your name? She says, Oh, yes, I wouldn't go back. She's an architect and her life improved immeasurably. And I said, “What about family and friends and things?” She says, “Oh, there's a few bumps along the road.” But she said she would never go back either, and she noticed a huge difference changing her name. And it was very discordant, and then it all leveled out. And she said that she would wake up and feel different. And I said, “Really?” She said, “Oh yes!” She said, “I’d wake up in the morning,” and she said, “I knew I was a different person.” So that was how she felt.

Did I notice anything like that? I think other people pointed out to me the differences more than I noticed it with myself. But, I would never go back. And I'm a lot happier. I know where my life is going. I follow the cycles of time. And just like it's cold and windy outside right now, I know that I'm not going to go out in shorts and a top. And that's like with the cycles of time. So you can plan your business life, your personal life. Everything is explained and it's very easy. You just have to be determined to do it and stick with it. It is not difficult at all.

Daken: You've been very successful in your career. Do you attribute that to the understanding that you gained from the Philosophy?

Alannah: Totally. A thousand percent. I was thirty years old when I changed my name and up to age thirty, I would say the attainment that I had through business would have been an office manager or managing a small company. But that wasn't what I really wanted to do. Otherwise, I wouldn't have been moving forward. No, I got the career I wanted. And unbeknownst to me, everything fell into place.

Daken: What did you find valuable in your studies that you'd like to share with the listeners?

Alannah: What did I find valuable? Everything. Everything. Absolutely everything. There isn't one thing. It's like a patchwork quilt. Everything all was sewn together. So, I can't say that there was one thing. My personal life is very good. My business life when I worked was excellent. And, um, I know from the cycles of time where my life is going. It's all spelled out. Really all you have to do is follow along. The classwork is very simple. It's not hard to understand. You might have to read it two or three times, maybe five times, to get the in depth meaning, but it's all there.

Daken: Any final comments that you'd like to share?

Alannah: For probably about 10 years, a girlfriend and I were actively searching for a path in life. You know, we had goals, what we wanted, and what we both were searching for was to be treated equally to men, and especially in any sort of a group. And with the Kabalarian Philosophy, that's the first thing that I've noticed is that women are treated equally to men. They were not subservient, they were not dispatched to do these things.

I had spent, at that point in time, a third of my life, trying to find some place where I would be recognized for me, not the fact that I'm a woman, and and the men are bossing the women around. That just was not for me at all. But the philosophy treated women equally. And that was one thing that was a great big check mark on my list.

Kabalarian Philosophy opens up the biggest book of life and it's from every aspect. You can figure your life out and it explains everything. It's very simple to follow, very simple to understand. Just apply the teachings. It's like going to a chemistry class. You know, you might not understand any of it to start off with, but you know that you're in the right place and you just have to stick with it.

Your putting your foot on a path of life. For the people that are contemplating changing their name, they're searching or they wouldn't be on the website. So you're obviously not doing cartwheels with your life as it is or you wouldn't be here. And you have nothing to lose and everything to gain. So do it.

Daken: Thank you for participating. We appreciate your sharing your experiences with the listeners, and I'm sure they'll gain from your insights and your thoughts.

Alannah: Well, thank you very much for asking me. Thank you.
