INTERVIEW:

Daken: Our guest today is Gerard Tanner. He's been a long-term student of the Kabalarian Philosophy. Welcome Gerard! Thank you for joining us and sharing some of your experiences with balanced name.

Gerard: Thank you. It's a pleasure to be here.

Daken: How long have you used a balanced name?

Gerard: For quite a while; since about 55 years now.

Daken: Well, that's amazing. And how did you find out about it?

Gerard: At the time I was in my mid-twenties and I was in Calgary working at a construction office there. And and one of the fellows that was next to me, he said in our conversation, “See that fellow down there, he changed his name.” I thought, “That's a strange thing to do.” After awhile, I got to meet him at coffee breaks and things like that. I went around asking a few questions and he would give a little short answer and that was about it. He would give me a little bit of answer here and there and certainly tweak my attention.

And one day he told me, he said, “Look, there's a fellow coming from Vancouver and he's a lecturer on this Kabalarian Philosophy. Why don't you just show up and see what you think of it.” So I went to the lecture and you go in and it was a school auditorium. This fellow gave his lecture which was interesting. I had submitted my name and birth date at the door when I went in to to have a name analysis. And so he went on and explained my name analysis at the end of this lecture for about 10 minutes or so.

Daken: So he used your name as an example of how to analyze names. So he was doing that in front of the whole group.

Gerard: After explaining the theory of the Mathematical Principle and that, he did this name analysis on myself. And at the end of the name analysis, he asked “What do you think of that? Can you recognize these qualities?” And I was quite impressed but I said I recognize about 80 percent of that.

And so after the lecture, he came up and we talked together and and that's when I said, “That's fine. That's what you did on me. But, who knows? Maybe you did some background work or something to see about these qualities that I had. I am not just going to take everybody at face-value. I want to get things checked out. How about my father? How about my mother? What can you say about their name and their birth date? What can you say about them? And also one of my brothers?

And he gave a brief sketch on them and that turned the tide. When he was able to sketch out the qualities of my family members, I knew there was something definitely there for sure. So that's how I got introduced to it. So from there on, I decided to take the introductory course in Calgary on aspects of understanding the mathematical numbers and applying it to name.

Daken: So did you change your name after that? How did that work out?

Gerard: No, I just I had to still chew on it and think about it. But where it opened up to me is the following year. And meanwhile, I was taking the course one book at a time. About a year later, I was out with my roommate from school, we took off and went to Europe. We went traveling around, gosh, we did about 22 countries in about three months or so. We took our time, bought a car. And so every town and city that we went to, we would go to a youth hostel. Gordy, he put me on the spot. He'd say, “Hey, fellows, (we were having a coffee or tea or maybe in a tavern or somewhere) this fellow can do a name analysis for you. He can tell you all about yourself. And I'm like, “Don't do that!”

Daken: How many name analysis did you do before you finish your trip?

Gerard: So he put me on the spot every time we went to a different city and different hotel there, just about every time. And it must have been at least a couple of dozen. And and the end of it (analysis), after giving them the little bit that I understood from taking the course I'd say, “What do you think? Did you recognize anything?” And they said, “Yeah, how did you do that? Wow!” And this was going on and on.

And by the end of that (trip), I was in Switzerland sitting on a up on a trail with a bunch of kids that were doing a hike, I just got off to the side and I sat on this big rock and I started thinking about it. “What's going on here?” I just sat there and within about, I don't know, maybe 20 minutes to half an hour, everything came to me in my mind. I said, “No, I’ve got to go back to Vancouver. I'm going to change my name to a balanced name. I'm going to see what this is all about. I can't just turn my back on it and live a lie really. If you know something is truthful, how can you deny it? And it's good for you, it's beneficial, gives you understanding, opens up your mind...”

From then, I came back to Vancouver, changed my name, changed so many things; the career that I was in; instead of working in construction I decided I was going to go into real estate and I was going to go into business cause I had an 8 minor coming up that I was in. And so I put it to work and I never looked back. Absolutely never.

Daken:Tell me Gerard, was it difficult for you to make a change to balanced names?

Gerard: At first, you're confronting your parents and you're saying, “Look, I'm changing my name and this and that now.” But you work through that. There is a unsettled time as you're breaking into this new territory. But after a number of months, your clarity of your thinking is there. You've got purpose. You've got motivation and you've got a track, a truthful track, to follow into the future.

Daken: What advice would you give to someone considering a balance game right now?

Gerard: I would say, Look into it! Know what you're doing and try and understand the Principle. Study it a bit. Some people just jump into it and they're lucky and they can wade into it and get through it. But look into it and it's going to be the most valuable course that you'll ever take in your life. You can go to university, get graduate degrees. You can go study technology and be very successful. But you'll never understand life properly until you understand the Mathematical Principle.

It's universal. It applies to everything, every aspect of your life. And you get to understand yourself and you get to understand everybody that you're dealing with; your teachers, the people that you're selling to, the people that you're dealing with, your family members and that. And there's no issues there because when there's discord, you understand where it's coming from. And when there's harmony, you know where it's being made. And, it starts with yourself and you can spread it.

Daken: Wonderful. As a preamble to my next question, Gerard, I would just like to explain our concept of measuring our inner potential through our birth date, which we call the birthpath. This birthpath is the quality of consciousness we should develop throughout our entire life which is why we also call it a life lesson. It really has three component parts, sort of like a three-act play. These three components are called minor lessons and they colour our life in very definite ways. The month of birth influences us from birth to 27 years of age. From 27 to 54 years of age, we are influenced by the date of birth. From 54 to the close of life, we are influenced by the year of our birth.

The detailed understanding of this topic is covered in our online training. Simplifying it, we reduce each component to a single digit. For example, December is the 12th month, so 1 plus 2 is equal to 3, so that would be a first minor lesson of 3. If one was born on the 27th, 2 plus 7 equals to 9, so the middle minor lesson would be a 9. If one was born in the year 2003, 2 plus 3 is equal to 5. So the final minor lesson would be a 5. When you add these three numbers together, you get the birthpath or life lesson. As I mentioned, all of these numbers become very significant in shaping out life. So my question is how has understanding your minor lessons shaped the trajectory of your life?

Gerard: I had a 9 first minor and that (9 minor) was a concern for humanity in the big picture and not living for today, but a broader universal perspective. And that's what got me more involved in trying to understand life better too. It was that 9 first minor. Then I went to 8 minor, which is in business and I was in real estate and had some very good successful times and I had other challenging times, but I always came out definitely ahead of the game. And then the 7 last minor is to is more introspective and more tuning into nature and working with with a more philosophical thoughts and looking at the deeper aspects of life. I know that life definitely has been with a purpose.

Daken: Any final comments that you'd like to make?

Gerard: We've got one life to live. To have a complete life, you need this understanding. And I just love to share it with anyone who wants to know more about it, and is willing to put a little effort and try to be a better person, a little bit better person every day. So this is the Philosophy for you!

Daken: Excellent. Thank you Gerard. I really appreciate you participating and I'm sure people will gain from your insights.

Gerard: Okay. Thank you Daken!
