INTERVIEW:
Daken: Our guest today is Aloe Brenna. She's a long-term student of Kabalarian Philosophy, and she balanced her name many years ago. So thank you, Aloe, for joining us and sharing your experiences with the balanced name.
Aloe: Thank you for the opportunity.
Daken: So how long have you used a balanced name?
Aloe: It was 1995 when I started using a balanced name.
Daken: And how did you find out about the Mathematical Principle?
Aloe: It happened that I was traveling by bus at the time between my job and home and along Oak Street where the Kabalarian Hall used to be located. And for several months, back and forth past the hall, I noticed the sign outside the building they had there that displayed the telephone number for anyone to call for a brief name analysis. I decided to call and I received a five minute analysis of my first name. And the woman at the other end of the line, a complete stranger, just could not have known those things that she told me about myself. You know, that was what I thought at the time. And it was just a simple analysis of my first name and it was so accurate. I was definitely interested at that point in learning more about it.
Daken: So what did you do? What were your next steps?
Aloe: Well, I had been searching for a long time, and I guess I had become open-minded enough, in spite of my name or because of it, to keep searching. And it was a few months later that I came across an ad for a public lecture to be held at that same hall. Nothing could have stopped me from going there. And at the door, there was this very kind lady who greeted me and with such a warm welcome and she looked happy. I was really impressed by that. And the lecture just made sense. I received another brief name analysis after the lecture. I ordered a Name Report and began thinking about what new name I could possibly choose for myself and signed up for the Life Analysis Training course which would begin soon at that same hall.
Daken: Was it a difficult process for you to change your name?
Aloe: No, there were no complications at all. It was as though it were just the right timing and there was encouragement there to go ahead.
Something happened in my 20s when I was in the Yukon. I met or encountered a young woman who was thinking of changing her name. And I'd never heard of anybody doing that. And although it was based on a native concept and not the Mathematical Principle, meeting her had a very strong influence. And I had never liked my name. And so, just things started to happen in the way I looked at life and just being open, open to new ideas.
Daken: It's interesting that you say that because when I took the introductory course, the Life Analysis Training course, there was a First Nations fellow there, my age, and we were chatting and through the course, he went back to visit his grandmother who was about 80. And so this was in 1980 or so. So she would have been born in 1900. And anyways, he asked her, "How is mind created?" And she said, "Well, mind is created by the name. But it's a sacred knowledge that we don't share it readily." So it's interesting that you were talking about that because it confirms that that knowledge was there in many cultures, and there was that wisdom of understanding name.
So, you were studying the Philosophy, you balanced your name. What did you notice in your life?
Aloe: Well, concerning my health, I had already become a vegetarian and been a vegetarian for many years, and quite active, and didn't have any particular health problems. But I did begin to learn to trust the Mathematical Principle for answering questions about life instead of struggling along with blind faith. And it was by interacting with my new friends, like-minded people, that helped me to grow and learn more. And that is the significance of being a Kabalarian for me today. And at that early time, you know, it was invaluable for meeting up with the challenges and adjustments that I had to make with my new lifestyle. But it's the balanced name that makes this all possible.
Daken: What advice would you give to someone who's considering a balance name now?
Aloe: Not so much advice, but if someone has reached the doorstep of the Kabalarian Philosophy, there is a reason. Plus, they may have already been through a lot using an unbalanced name. So, give it a chance. Keep an open mind. It's often in learning how to relax also that will bring the right thoughts to us of what is the next principled thing to do. Acting with right intent, and focus, and clarity, we need to learn how to relax. And I think that's a big part of it too in moving forward. And there are all kinds of opportunities to travel to an established centre. There's zoom classes, there's opportunities to communicate with new friends via email between long distances. And I think the open mind is key. We don't know, we don't see, what's possible sometimes.
Daken: Right. We do have weekly Zoom calls for all the people on the Correspondence program, the online training. I think one day we had someone from Australia and then someone from Romania at the same time. So that might have been halfway around the world, at least. So we do connect to a lot of people in a lot of different areas on a regular basis. So that that is a support.
So, if you wanted to share one thing from your study program with the listeners, what would it be?
Aloe: I think it's just a basic thought is, "Happy thoughts are healthy thoughts." I love that one. And "Thoughts are things," but life is short and it becomes more evident that that's true as time goes by. And just change your name, change your life. It works!
Daken: Good points. So, any final comments?
Aloe: I think my life with an unbalanced name unfolded the only way it could. I can go back and make myself crazy about how things happened. But it could not have happened any other way with the name I had. And through many bitter experiences, which now have been replaced with happy and fulfilling experiences, and a life that I, a life with purpose, you know, we have a birthpath and we have a purpose, and to do it with right intent and a smile and some laughter. You know, it's a good recipe.
Daken: It's interesting you say that because we teach that you create your life through your thinking. And because your name is the tuning mechanism for your thinking pattern, when you balance your name, you can create a more balanced life, more happy life.
Thank you, Aloe, for participating and I appreciate your comments and sharing your thoughts. I'm sure that the listeners will benefit from it.
Aloe: Good. Thank you, Daken.
